Thick and lustrous shiny hair is something desired by each one of us. We spend fortunes on hair styling, treatments, and products just to achieve that desired look. A good hairdo adds finesse to the overall physical outlook and healthy looking hair is a sign of good well-being.

It not only sparks your personality but boosts inner confidence as well while you carry yourself at your best. The best solution of hair problems is choosing a natural method that affects long term and nourishes the scalp from deep down.

As you get older, your scalp health becomes more important because your body naturally loses many nutrients and nutrient absorption also slows down. There is a plethora of surgical treatments and medicinal options to prevent and restore hair but a natural way will always benefit you in the long run by working down all the layers.

According to,

Hair loss can also be either temporary or permanent. An average human sheds 50 to 100 strands of hair a day. With more than 100,000 hairs in the scalp, losing 100 wouldn’t make much difference. But continuous shedding over an increased period of time becomes problematic.

Tropical countries especially those in Southeast Asia having coastlines where coconut trees grow in abundance swear by the numerous health advantages and uses of coconut oil.

Coconut oil is majorly known for its ultra-hydration properties. It helps make hair strands softer, shinier and less brittle. The chief benefit of coconut oil is that it does not evaporate quickly. Due to this, the hair strands can lock moisture for extended time periods. Consequently, the hair becomes less subjected to thinning and breakage.

Coconut oil is rich in antioxidants and nutrients like vitamin E, vitamin K and iron that nourish and reinforce the damaged hair follicles.

Improves blood circulation

Coconut oil is known for its hair penetration quality. So, massaging with coconut oil improves blood circulation on the scalp towards the hair follicles which as a result stimulate hair growth.

Prevents Infections

Then come the antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial properties of coconut oil which aid in fighting scalp infections which can cause hair loss.

Lauric Acid

The role of Lauric acid present in the coconut oil is to fix and prevent breakage of hair. The anti-microbial properties of Lauric acid make it a powerful germ fighter fights effectively against viruses, bacteria, and protozoa. Its high affinity for proteins helps keep protein locked in.

This excellent and pure plant oil contains about 50 percent of lauric acid(a medium chain fatty acid). Coconut oil is the most abundant natural source of the lauric acid present. The lauric acid present in coconut oil fixes and prevents breakage of hair from both the roots and strands.

Sebum Retention

Coconut oil stimulates and mimics Sebum (body’s natural oil found to keep the scalp hydrated for damage protection). A well-moisturized scalp coats hair roots and prevents follicles from drying that can cause hair loss.

-Coconut oil is found mostly in the solid or semi-solid state depending on environmental temperature. Apply it lukewarm by placing it inside the Microwave for 10-20 seconds or inside hot water to turn into a liquid. Warm oil penetrates deeply and easily inside the pores for fast results.

-Dampen your scalp a little with warm water not piping hot as it damages the roots. Stimulate the pores in your scalp by pressing and rubbing from pressure points of your finger that are the tips.

-Pour some coconut oil on your palm and apply directly to roots. Massage the coconut oil into the scalp for at least three to five minutes for complete moisturizing. Do not rub vigorously or use rough force, massage gently.
