Heart Attack – Keep an eye on the symptoms

A heart attack is an Acute Coronary Syndrome in which the flow of blood to heart muscles gets blocked and they suddenly begin to die due to lack of oxygen. This coronary heart disease is also known as Myocardial Infarction.

Generally, the blockage of blood supply creates an oxygen-poor environment in muscles further aggravating the condition. Coronary heart diseases may develop at any stage when coronary arteries get clogged by deposition of fats. It narrow downs the passage of arteries making the oxygen supply to heart muscles difficult. This condition develops over time causing atherosclerosis.

If any piece of the deposited fat material (plague) breaks off it may result in blockage of arteries. It occurs due to the formation of the blood clot on the surface which gets enlarge with time, blocking the blood flow. Eventually, it blocks oxygen supply to heart muscles and they begin to die to cause the serious threat to life.

The heart attack symptoms may vary between men and women and also among individuals. It may also appear as a combination of different symptoms. It is important to note that condition caused by indigestion must not be confused with chest pain and heart attack symptoms.

The decreased oxygen supply to heart muscles often leads to shortness of breath. Prior to a heart attack, one may feel chest discomfort.

This condition usually lasts for a long time or may go away and come back. This condition is also coupled with increased pressure and radiating pain in the chest and back.

According to the American Heart Association, in women, there may appear symptoms other than chest pain. The tiresome feeling of fatigue and pressure on the chest is also an indication of cardiac stress.

It is produced by doing a small physical activity or even after waking up from sleep. The squeezing pain in the chest and fatigue causes heaviness and irregular heartbeat.

Quite often heart attack symptoms appear as pain in neck, jaws, and arms (particularly the left arm). Commonly, the pain is coupled with intense cold sweating and it intends people to seek a medical examination.

The severity of pain and appearance of other symptoms vary. It majorly depends on the muscle damage and health condition. Other factors like age, the severity of heart attack, frequency, and term of attack also hold a great proportion.

If you ever experience any symptom related to heart attack, chew aspirin tablet if available if you are not allergic to it. It basically helps in thinning the blood and reduces the associated risk to some extent. For the best results, chew a single full-sized 325-mg tablet.

To reduce the risk of getting a heart attack it is necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Control weight and keep it under safe limits. Eat healthy food having minimum fats and maximum dietary fibers.

For remaining fresh all day add fruits and fresh juices to your diet.
Through regular exercise, one can stay out of danger of all type of heart risks. It is a healthy activity, keep it as a priority in routine and transform the daily tasks accordingly.

Moderating and eventually inhibiting smoking and alcohol consumption is also necessary to prevent bad health.
