Research has also indicated a useful substance known as eugenol to be the part of this essential oil. The presence of this substance can be the reason why cinnamon oil can help in the treatment of ulcers.

This has been proved separately by a research conducted in 2002. In this research, the scientists concluded that gastric ulcers caused due to ethanol could be reduced by using eugenol. Eugenol was, in fact, found to reduce both the number as well as the severity of these ulcers.

In vitro research has also pointed out the effect of cinnamon on Plasmodium falciparum, a parasite notorious for causing malaria in humans.
